The NFL released the full 2021 schedule Wednesday night. This will be the first 17-game regular season. This adds a week to our regular season as well. The new 18th week is the old 17th week... we don't play that mess in our fantasy football league.
We did have some schedule mess last year with a few games postponed, but none actually canceled, due to COVID-19, as was inevitable, but the season plowed on and with more knowledge, more experience, and vaccinations now available for players, there's no reason to believe that the NFL will have to hold back the season this year. That was a long sentence. I probably should revisit that with some edits, but who has time for that?
The regular season begins Thursday, September 9, 2021 and ends on Sunday, January 9, 2022. Our playoffs will be Weeks 15, 16, and 17. Our season will end on January 3, 2022 with the final Week 17 game starting at 8:15PM ET (Browns vs Steelers).
